General Information Body Paragraph: The Galactic Cold War was A war between the First Order and the New Republic. The Cold War is just the name for this part of a much larger war that was never given a full official name. That would lead to another war known as the First Order-Resistance War which lasted from 34- 35 ABY. But the whole war is just several parts of the same war split into many sections. 

History/Background Body Paragraph: This war started due to the first order rising from the survivors of the Galactic Empire who escaped from the Unknown Regions and founded The First Order. A few decades later The First Order showed up, surprising the New Republic. Which started The Cold War. The Cold War was less planetary battles and more on small missions. 

Additional Information Body Paragraph: Overall the cold war was just the start of brutal fighting and sad stories to come out of all the battles between the First Order and The New Republic which would later become the resistance.
