Sarlacc’s are a carnivorous, non-sentient species found on Felucia, Vodran, Tatooine, and I’vorcia Prime. The massive creatures are 10 feet (3 meters) wide, and up to 328 feet (100 meters) or more in length, with tan beaks and tentacles. It sticks its jaws and tentacles outside the sand to snatch up any prey that wanders too close. Sarlaccs began as spores to inhabit as many planets and areas as possible and only reached maturity after 30,000 years or so. Once fully mature, it buries itself deep beneath the sand.

History/Background Body Paragraph: 

The famous Jabba the Hutt enjoyed a pet Sarlacc within the Great Pit of Carkoon, and was used as a method of execution. Countless prisoners were fed to this particular Sarlacc as amusement, including Boba Fett, who managed a near escape by using the remains of a Stormtrooper.

An ongoing debate between xenobiologists has still been unable to confirm whether or not the Sarlaccs are a plant or animal species, as nobody can get close enough to fully distinguish and make it out alive.
