The Imperial Remnant, also known as the Galactic Empire, the Remnant, the true Empire, Pellaeon’s Empire or simply the Empire was an oligarchic regime found in the Outer Rim Territories, succeeding after the fall of the First Galactic Empire as the biggest and most prominent Remnant of the Empire. It was based on Bastion, created by Supreme Commander Gilad Pellaeon, who abolished slavery and anti-alien laws and feelings. Despite all that, the Imperial Remnant still held onto a form of Imperial Ideology, which its Supreme Commander also shares. At first it was in conflict with the New Republic, but it was forced to eventually quit and sue for peace. During the Yuuzhan Vong war, the Imperial Remnant was one of the major powers, becoming part of the Galactic Alliance. However, when Jagged Fel took over the remnant through the democratic reforms, it withdrew from the Alliance as the Second Galactic Civil War raged. Fel would then proceed to make the Remnant an empire again.

History/Background Body Paragraph:

After the collapse of the Galactic Empire, remnants of it went under Admiral Natasi Daala to form a united front against the New Republic. However, after failing a campaign, Daala gave full command to Gilad Pellaeon, who became Supreme Commander and relocated the United Warlords Fleet into the Mid/Outer Rim. He restored the Imperial Navy and Army, and established the Council of Moffs in order to recreate the Empire, and expand the Remnant’s borders. However, the New Republic pushed it to the edge of the Outer Rim, until there were only eight sectors under the Remnant’s control. Because of this, Pellaeon made peace with the New Republic, ending the Galactic Civil War in 19 ABY. The Imperial Remnant then became an actual successor of the Empire, and stayed in a good, yet tense relationship with the New Republic. When it requested aid against the Yuuzhan Vong, however, the council of Moffs decided to let the Remnant stay out of the war. In 28 ABY, after taking Coruscant, the Yuuzhan Vong raider Bastion and forced the Empire to retreat, and it later joined the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances. Pellaeon retired after the defeat of the Yuuzhan Vong in 29 ABY. The Remnant then took part in a devastating war against the Colony. In 41 ABY Pellaeon returned as Imperial leader. However, he was assassinated after refusing to support the leader of the Galactic Alliance, Darth Caedus’ brutality during the Second Battle of Fondor. After the war, the Alliance presented the Moffs with an ultimatum: either they had to face war crime trials, or they could put someone named Jagged Fel as the new Head of State. Known again as the Galactic Empire, the Remnant withdrew from the Alliance, and Fel began his plans of reunification. After a failed assassination by Admiral Daala, Admiral Vitor Reige defeated her and became the new Head of State. Fel later took the spot again, and through his “Victory Without War” plan, he spread the Empire’s influence throughout the Galaxy and absorbed some of the Alliance’s territories, ascending again as an Emperor.

The Imperial Remnant had a powerful military made up of the Imperial Navy, Imperial Army and Stormtrooper Corps. The military answered to the Imperial High Command. It also had a strong Intelligence compartment, with the Imperial Intelligence, Fleet Intelligence and Communications Intelligence all being great Intelligence divisions under the Remnant.
