Banthas were large predators with large and sharp spiral horns. They are native to the planet Tatooine and are used by the humanoid Tusken Raiders, where they are treated like horses or cows (Bantha steak, butter, clothes or furniture). Banthas are peaceful, live in herds and their colour is brown or black.

History/Background Body Paragraph:

They were widely used as mounts, and their milk, instinctively blue, was used for drinking, yoghurt, ice cream and butter. Their popular meat was made into jerky, steaks, and burgers, and their dung was used for fuel. The Tusken Raiders tamed them and they have a strong mystical bond. Every boy gets a male Bantha and every girl gets a female Bantha. When the Tusken Raider marries, the Banthas also mate and when their "friend" dies, the Banthas should die shortly after.

Additional Information Body Paragraph:

The Tusken Raiders would never hurt or kill their Banthas, as they are the only useful species and have a strong bond with each other, but if they die in battle, they are fed to Krayt dragons to protect their settlements. During Imperial territory, Obi-Wan gets a friend from a herd of Banthas and names two of them Dala and Nara. In the Starwars movie "A New Hope", masked elephants were used for ALL the Banthas throughout the movie.
