General Information Body Paragraph:

The Jedi Archives ( AKA  The Jedi Temple Library ) was the order's main location which stored all of their information/knowledge about the galaxy ( which includes planets, species, tribes, Galactic history, individuals, wars/battles, technology, sith). The Jedi Archives were overseen and led by the Council of First Knowledge and the knowledge inside the archives were stored holographically and electronically. This was the place where all the Jedi would learn and gain knowledge and It was said that it held the most galactic information ever recorded . The Archives also contained the ancient Holocrons which were very sacred to the Jedi and kept away, securely , in a vault that was inaccessible to anyone that was not a Jedi. 

History/Background Body Paragraph:

The Archives were founded at around 25,ooo BBY and were located in the Jedi orders temple on Coruscant. The Jedi Archives also contained few of the artefacts and holobooks that were from the Jedi Temple Library of Ossus. The leader of the CoFK was the chief Librarian and probably the most famous of the chief librarians was Jocasta Nu ( who oversaw the Archives during the clone wars ).

Before the battle of Geonosis, Jocasta Nu was helping the Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi find the archive about the planet Kamino, as Obi-Wan was trying to hunt down the Bounty hunter, Jang Fett.

They could not find any archives on the Planet Kamino, as they were previously erased by the Sith Lord Count Dooku/Darth Tyranus. The ruin of the Archives happened during the time of the Great Jedi Purge, as the empire took complete control over the Jedi Temple and killed nearly all of the Jedi guarding it.

The CoFK used JN-66 and SP-4 droids to help administer the Archives.

At the end of the Jedi purge, Palpatine allowed the Grand inquisitor ( who used to be a temple guard ) to read all about the Jedi combat forms that were stored away in the archives. Palpatine also, at the end of the Jedi Purge turned the Jedi temple and Archives into his Palace. 

Jocasta Nu, who was still alive at the end of the purge , went back to the Archives and entered a vault that had a list of all the force-sensitive names who lived across the galaxy. She was later found by the Grand Inquisitor and fought him. She nearly died if it wasn’t for Lord Vader, who stopped the Grand Inquisitor right before he killed her, because Emperor Palpatine wanted Jocasta Nu alive.
