Wayseekers are Jedi who only follow the calling of the Force, free from the Jedi Council's direction. They can fulfill whatever purpose The Force guides them to. Sometimes it meant proper meditation, sometimes it meant fighting with planetary revolutions against tyrannical rulers. 

History/Background Body Paragraph:

Wayseekers were a type of Jedi we've currently only seen in The High Republic era because the Jedi Order was more flexible about its mandates and its members. They took full advantage of the prosperity of peacetime. Wayseeker Jedi have followed The Force to mountaintop meditation. As Wayseeker Orla Jareni follows The Force into the Frontier, she encounters a wicked space station infested with the Dark Side. Some looked down on Wayseekers because they felt that they were being granted too much freedom and who's to say whether or not The Force is truly calling a Jedi to do any of those things.

A Jedi Wayseeker even became a pop star on Alderaan. Qui-Gon Jinn would be a Wayseeker.
