General Information Body Paragraph:

Located in the Tapani sector of the Colonies region, Fondor served as a major distribution shipyard during the time of the Galactic Empire. The vast majority of the population was human due to their versatile bodies in metalworking. The planet was the home to the Fondor Shipyards, consisting of over a dozen docking bays for the Empire. Each shipyard orbited the planet along with Fondor’s moon, covering the purple surface of the planet. 

History/Background Body Paragraph:

Previous to the Empire’s takeover of the galaxy, the shipyards served as communal shipyards. In 19 BBY however, the Galactic Empire forced Fondor’s population to manufacture Star Destroyer ships. In 14 BBY, the Sovereign Star Destroyer was stationed in Fondor. Before the Battle of Yavin, the Sovereign served as Grand Moff Tarkin’s infamous ship that spanned over 1,600 meters. In 34 ABY, after the siege on Crait, Kylo Ren deployed over a dozen Star Destroyers to Fondor to claim the shipyards under the First Order. Despite Kylo Ren’s crew arguing that Fondor had been an individual system, the Supreme Leader took the shipyards anyway and killed the “treasonous” crew members.

Count Dooku argued during the fall of the Republic era that Fondor would join the Separatist Confederacy rather than the Republic. However, Grand Moff Tarkin disagreed with Dooku’s analysis of Fondor and planned to take the planet by force if needed. Eventually, Fondor was under the control of the Empire, serving as the home to many Imperial scientists and loyalists.
