Satine Kryze was born on the planet Kalevala, which lies in the Outer Rim. Satine grew up in the Clan Kryze, which was considered to be the Mandalorian royal family. Satine also had a sister; her name was Bo-Katan Kryze. Growing up together, Satine and her sister were close to each other.

Satine was also familiar with the Jedi Master, Obi-Wan-Kenobi; they first met during the Mandalorian Civil War. During the Civil War, Obi-Wan and his master, Qui-Gon Jinn, were sent to protect Satine from her enemies.
