General Information Body Paragraph

Rivan is a former sith lord who was very well known for his immense prowess with wielding the powerful artifact known as the Darkstaff, a weapon capable of draining the force essence from a living being. Rivan lived in the mossy planet of almas for decades until he was driven off by the Jedi knights, at some point before 1250 BBY. Darth Rivan played a key role in the battle of almas. He was a fearful warrior who was very intelligent.  During the battles between the Jedi army of Light and the Sith brotherhood of darkness several centuries later, he would be slain by a force-user of immense power. Which made it so he couldnt be buried in the crypt he had created for himself.  It was said that Darth Rivan's quest for physical immortality failed, and it led to his downfall. In the year of 1000 BBY.

History/Background Body Paragraph

Darth Rivan was not like other sith, instead of searching to take control over the galaxy he searched to become immortal. During his time as a sith warlord he settled on the planet Almas and there he built a fortress intending to delve into the great mysteries of the dark side of the force. The fortress was plagued with mechanical traps that couldn’t be detected with the force or even with advanced technology. Rivan had only one option to use Mandalorian beskar, resistant to the force and to the light saber to keep his most prized possessions safe. He specifically designed the fortress so that his slaves and prisoners would be cut off from the force, feeling absolutely lost and despaired. After a while of living in his fortress  Rivan ended up searching for a new goal for his fortress and that would be the creation of the Sith battle droids. Rivan had a vision for his elite corps to complete. That would be to eliminate the insubordination amongst the Sith ranks. By doing so he would be feared among all the current sith as a vicious warrior with no regard for life.  

Additional Information Body Paragraph

Rivan has never actually been featured or mentioned in a story. So far, both he and the Almas fortress have only been mentioned in source books and role playing scenarios.

Darth Rivan most notably said this quote- "Darkness is a friend, an ally. Darkness allows us to understand others, to see what they value when they believe no one else is looking. It allows us to be honest with ourselves, to express those values that we would disavow in the light. The light blinds us. It is only in the dark that we see clearly, and there is a great dark hidden among these worlds."
