General Information Body Paragraph: The Senate Guards, or often referred to as Blue Guards, were elite units enforcing the security around the senate district on the planet Coruscant, which was the capital and heart of the Galactic Republic. They served to protect the Senate and Supreme Chancellor during the Republic era  and were primarily around in the main Senate Building. Guards that showed high competence and loyalty would potentially be offered a place in the Senate Commandos. They were entitled to execute particular secretive missions, given by the government. They wear armor similar to the clones painted blue with the Commandos; having white markings either on their pauldron or chest armor. While guarding the Senate Building, they commonly wear a robe to fit in with the ambience. Their starting ranks would be private and ascend to the rank of Corporal, which usually doesn’t require a lot of training. Afterwards, their following promotions would be Sergeant, Lieutenant, until the rank of Commander. The ranking system for the Senate Guards is very alike to the ones of the clone troopers, just like their armor.

History/Background Body Paragraph: These elite units have been existent since the times of the Old Republic, up until the times of the Galactic Republic. During the Invasion of Naboo in 32 BBY, the cataclysm on Naboo led to the Senate's belief of Chancellor Valorum’s incompetend leadership and casted out a vote for a new Supreme Chancellor. Therefore, the secret dark lord of the Sith, Sheev Palpatine, rose to the political position of Supreme Chancellor. Although the former Chancellor left office, he was still granted protection by the Senate Guards. After Chancellor Palpatine had won the election, he began replacing the Senate Guards with his new guards with red uniforms and robes. They would later be known as the Emperor’s Guards and/or Royal Guards after the identity of Sheev Palpatine had been revealed. After Order 66 and fall of the Galactic Republic, no Senate Guards were seen again during the aftermath. Pursuing the time of the recreation of the New Republic, guards with blue armor were introduced again who became the new generation of Senate Guards.

Additional Information Body Paragraph: While accompanying luminaries or guarding around the Senate Halls, they often wore more formal, exemplary robes as mentioned before and carried Force pikes and blaster pistols, instead of other heavy blasters they usually carried; such as the DC-15.
