General information body paragraph:

Project black wing was the Galactic Empire's attempt at unlocking immortality that went drastically wrong and unintentionally created The Sickness or Blackwing virus. It was accidentally created when Sith scientists attempted to revive necrotic tissue using Sith alchemy mixed with science. 

An infected patient of Project Blackwing would become horribly disfigured and have a decrease in stamina but a massive boost in their resilience to damage, allowing the infected to take multiple blaster wounds that would otherwise kill or fatally injure an average person.

The virus allows other infected to communicate with each other, almost acting as a hive mind and acting out on organised attacks. The infected were even able to learn and adapt from their previous fights, even to the point of using blasters.

History/Background Body Paragraph:

Sometime before 13bby, the virus Blackwing was created by Sith scientists in an attempt to reach immortality, but instead, they created a horde of zombies that were able to take excessive damage and learn, adapt and communicate with each other, which led Emperor Palpatine to name his Special Forces “Deathtroopers”.

Inside the secret base on the planet of Dandoran, multiple Storm troopers were accidentally infected with the Blackwing virus. The virus spread so rapidly that it threatened to spread across the entire galaxy.  So many Storm troopers became infected at this base that they became to be known as the Army of the Dead.

It was such a threat that the Empire and the Rebel alliance had to work together to contain the Virus. However, smugglers and other such criminals have managed to get their hands on samples of the Black Wing virus and sell them on the black market.

Additional Information Body Paragraph:

Blackwing, or The Sickness, was initially created by a Sith Lord called Darth Drear in the year 4645bby. The Darth created it in an attempt to reach immortality, but it went drastically wrong, and he fell victim to the Virus.

During the Period of Unrest, another Sith Lord by the name of Scabrous would attempt to recreate immortality following Drear's footsteps. They would also fail, which led to Odacer Faustin Sith Academy falling to the virus, Masters and apprentices alike becoming infected, and even the entire Planet falling to the Virus. All that would remain on the Planet would be cannibalistic monsters. They came to call this virus the Knowledge of Sickness.

A few millennia afterwards, another Sith Lord would arrive on the planet, Darth Vader; he would take samples back to the Empire, which would lead to the creation of the Blackwing virus and the incident on Dandoran.
