General Information Body: 

During the Clone Wars, Echo—also known as CT-1409 and famed as the Hero of Anaxes—was a Corporal in the Grand Army of the Galactic Republic and an Advanced Recon Commando. Echo, a Kamino native, enlisted in the military as CT-21-0408 and joined the Domino Squad with friends Hevy, Cutup, Droidbait, and Fives. After graduating from the clone training center, Echo's first task was to protect the lunar outpost Rishi Station. He worked with Fives, Clone Captain Rex, Clone Commander Cody, and Hevy—who selflessly gave his life in the fight—on this assignment. Through their combined efforts, they were able to alert the Republic of the possibility of a Separatist invasion on Kamino. Echo was recognized for his gallantry and was eventually accepted into the elite 501st Legion.

Background/History Body: 

Originating from Kamino, the homeworld of every clone soldier from the Galactic Republic, was CT-1409. He was affectionately called "Echo," a moniker he acquired from his tendency to mockingly repeat commands during training drills, which annoyed his fellow soldiers. Echo, a cadet with the identification CT-21-0408, received both mental and physical training while living in the Tipoca City barracks.

Echo was a genetic duplicate of the well-known bounty hunter Jango Fett, just like all clones were. But because the massive cloning effort had put a burden on Fett's surviving DNA, Kaminoan Administrator Lama Su surmised that Echo and the other cadets in his squad could be deemed too flawed to fight.

Every clone, including Echo, was created through genetic engineering to have an inbuilt allegiance to the Republic. He was known for following the book and for being a "know-it-all" among his fellow cadets because of his rigid adherence to rules. Echo showed his trainers a tremendous deal of respect during his cadet days. He read and kept up with military rules during his downtime while stationed on the Rishi Moon, much to the annoyance of his other squad members. He would often use these rules to clarify or suggest tactics to his colleagues; this practice resulted in the moniker "Echo" following him for the duration of his professional career.

Despite having no prior combat experience during the Rishi Moon incident, Echo quickly adapted by using both his military and mental preparation. During his time with the Republic, Echo was commended for his bravery, heroism, commitment, loyalty, resourcefulness, and competence in several contexts, including the battlefield.
