General Information Body Paragraph:

Darth Malak was given a mission (along with his master Darth Revan) to find the Star Forge. Malak, alongside Revan, tracked down the star maps which revealed the hidden location of the star forge. During an in-space battle with the republic and Jedi, the Jedi boarded Revan’s ship and fought him. Malak, seeing an opportunity, fired upon Revan’s ship causing Revan to supposedly die, thus granting Malak the title of “Dark Lord of the Sith”. Revan had actually not died and Malak later found this out after intercepting a republic transmission where he saw Bastila Shan alongside his old master Revan. Malak sought to destroy his old master for good, and once he caught up to Revan, Bastila let herself get caught to save him. Malak turned Bastila to the dark side so that she could help capture or kill Revan. Revan however, was now deemed as a Jedi Knight, and he boarded the Star Forge, and he killed Malak in a lightsaber duel.

History/Background Body Paragraph:

Darth Malak was a human male born on the planet of Quelii which was located in the Outer Rim Territories. Malak’s actual name was Alek, and his surname was the same name as the village he grew up in. He developed the name “Malak” to avoid an arrest warrant put on him by the Jedi Council. The Mandalorians attacked Malak’s home world although Malak escaped the fighting. This led Malak to run off to the Galactic Republic where he was eventually trained in the ways of the Force by the Jedi.

Additional Information Body Paragraph:

A short while after becoming a Jedi Knight, the Mandalorians launched an attack on the republic, thus causing the Mandalorian Wars. Alek (Malak) and Revan were both focused on defeating their foes, however the Jedi Council forbade them from participating in the war. This is due to the fact that the council felt as though the threat had not yet appeared. As a Sith Lord, Malak would wear a cybernetic jaw due to a brutal past injury applied by his master Darth Revan. Revan sliced Malak’s jaw off with his lightsaber causing him to wear the cybernetic jaw. Additionally, after Malak received his new title as dark lord, he took on an apprentice:  a fallen Jedi by the name of Darth Brandon.
