Belsavis was a planet located in the Ninth Quadrant region of the Bozhnee sector in the Outer Rim Territories. Belsavis was a vast ice planet with two suns in a binary star system and three moons. Belsavis had a breathable Type I atmosphere. Belsavis was capable of supporting multiple species due to its atmospheric type. The native species of Belsavis are the Mluki and other species that inhabited Belsavis include: Duros, Esh-kha, Ho’din, Humans, Ithorians, and Rakatans. The Belsavis Run trade route, the primary trade route for Belsavis, ran through its inhabited space. Belsavis Run was a smuggler hyperspace route which only catered to two planets in its hyperspace lane, Belsavis and Tekurr’k. Tekurr’k was an industrialized planet and due to the nature of its high economic prominence it was a prosperous trading partner for Belsavis.

History/Background Body Paragraph:

Belsavis has a lengthy history spanning from the pre–Old Republic era to the New Republic era. The earliest records of this planet date back to the Rakatan Infinite Empire during the Great Galactic War around 3681 BBY. The planet was used as a prison colony during this period and housed dangerous Sith force-wielders in a facility called "The Tomb”. Several centuries later, after the fall of the Infinite Empire and the resultant liberation of Belsavis, Belsavis came under control of the Galactic Republic. During 20 BBY the Galactic Republic colonized Belsavis. The Republic imported non-indegnous species of plants and animals from Ithor to Belsavis for colonization. After the fall of the Galactic Republic, Belsavis was immediately under control of the Galactic Empire in 19 BBY.  Jedi Master Plett hid Jedi Younglings within a community on the planet called “Plett’s Well (also referred to as Palwal)”. Later in the Imperial Era of Belsavis around 6 BBY, many smugglers were conducting business in Belsavis space and were later foiled by the Empire. During the New Republic Era around 12 ABY. Belsavis didn’t join the New Republic with full member status, but only allied themselves with the Galactic Republic to maintain independence. A coup was attempted against the New Republic by Roganda and Irek Ismaren to place her son, Irek, as the new Emperor. They attempted to use Irek’s Force abilities to control the “Eye of Palpatine'', a weapon created during the Imperial Era and left in orbit of Belsavis. It was a unique weapon, a super dreadnought created in the shape of an asteroid, a battlemoon. However, Irek was later quickly defeated by Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa Solo, and Callista.

Belsavis had 2 major cities, Bot-un and Plett’s Well. Bot-un was a dome shaped city located on a rift, and inhabitants of this city interacted with citizens from Plett’s Well. Plett’s Well is a city built in-between the cliffs of red-black rock. Belsavis was inhabited by many other unlisted immigrated species. Belsavis was known for two major exports, vine-coffee and vine-silk. Vine-coffee was notoriously hard to grow, but was possible to grow on Belsavis due to its artificial adjustable platforms underneath an artificial dome in a volcanic rift valley. Vine-silk was native to Belsavis and was so economically lucrative due to the scarcity of it that a single dress made of Vine-silk could be equivalent to approximately 30% of the entire planet’s economy.
