Advanced Recon Commandos, commonly known as ARC troopers, were an elite variant of clone troopers of the Galactic Republic. Unlike other special forces divisions of the Republic, ARC troopers could both be chosen from the ranks of regular clone troopers, or created by the Kaminoans. The status of ARC trooper was given to clone troopers who have served with distinction on the battlefield, a famous example being CT-5555 “Fives”. ARC troopers were also trained to fill in the commanding ranks of the army. 

History/Background Body Paragraph:

During the creation of clone troopers, Jango Fett, a Mandalorian bounty hunter suggested the creation of clone troopers that are capable of doing covert operations, Those operations of which might be too hard for the regular clone troopers to handle. After a number of experiments, the first batch of ARC troopers were created. This batch of troopers were named the Null-class. These experimental troopers were created with hugely enhanced muscle structure, independence and high intelligence, to the point where they were deemed “Defective” due to their uncontrollable independence. The Kaminoans continued with their experiments until the ideal version of ARC troopers were formed, resulting in the creation of ARC troopers like CT-7567 “Rex”.

Following the creation of Null-class ARC troopers, the Kaminoans at last created the first successful batch of ARC troopers, named Alpha-class. Due to the high risk of genetic failure, only 100 of these ARC troopers were created. These troopers were taken in by Jango Fett to be trained. They were trained to be more obedient, while also keeping their independence as an ARC trooper. One of the well-known Alpha-class ARC is Alpha 77, otherwise known as Captain Fordo.
