Article Theme/Topic: Dev Sibwarra
General Information Body Paragraph:
"He died at peace and we are all the poorer for his loss."
―Luke Skywalker
A Human boy named Dev Sibwarra was born on Chandrila. His mother, Ydra, had been a Padawan who had left the Jedi Order before completing her training; as a result, she had managed to survive Order 66 and the first stages of the Great Jedi Purge. Elder Sh'tk'ith indoctrinated and brainwashed Sibwarra while he was in the Ssi-ruuvi capital world of Lwhekk. He eventually started to think of Sh'tk'ith and the Entechment Master Firwirrung as "family" despite their mistreatment. Dev was a member of a Ssi-ruuvi expeditionary army who invaded the distant Outer Rim world of Bakura in 4 ABY after Emperor Palpatine was killed during the Battle of Endor. Even after such suffering, Dev managed to regain himself by enrolling as a student of the legendary Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker.
History/Background Body Paragraph:
Dev Sibwarra was born in the early years of the Imperial era in 11 BBY on the Core world of Chandrila to Ydra Kilwallen Sibwarra and a man named Sibwarra. In the latter years of the Galactic Republic, Ydra was a former Jedi Padawan who had left the Order before completing her training. Ydra, who had no mastery of the Force, taught Dev the fundamentals of Jedi training when she became aware of his powers with the intention of placing him under the tutelage of a still-living Jedi. She was able to teach him life web, among other skills. Dev's family moved to G'rho, a small Human colony world in the Outer Rim Territories, when he was ten years old in order to avoid being discovered by the anti-Jedi Galactic Empire. Shortly later, Sibwarra saw the Ssi-ruuk, a saurian species from a distant starcluster in the Unknown Regions, invade G'rho. His parents were killed during the invasion, and he saw that his mother's Force sense had disappeared.
Additional Information Body Paragraph
Dev mastered the intricate Ssi-ruuvi tongue, which humans were unable to learn owing to physiologic differences. Additionally, Sibwarra grew prejudices against the P'w'ecks, a deplorable slave race that the Ssi-ruuk had previously conquered.
