Article Theme/Topic: Jedi Historian
General Information Body Paragraph:
Jedi who had decided to follow the Consular's teachings and specialize in lore-keeping were known as Jedi historians, also known as Jedi chroniclers. These Jedi devoted their lives to learning about the past of the Jedi Order.
History/Background Body Paragraph:
A Jedi who serves as a Lore Keeper may choose to specialize in one or more of the following subfields: Jedi historian, Jedi librarian, or Jedi archivist. The history of earlier times, including the history of the Order, was to be studied by historians. They were frequently given the responsibility of running satellite training centers like Kamparas, Telos, and Obroa-skai. While historians were at their best during times of peace, the Jedi Councils required more Jedi in the field when there was a conflict. Large gatherings of Jedi would debate and evaluate their beliefs during the Galactic Republic. Along with the Exploration Corps, they also traveled to the periphery of civilized space to research fresh findings and find misplaced relics. The Jedi historians who made up the Council of First Knowledge provided guidance on issues needing archival Jedi knowledge. The majority of historians wore the standard set of Order robes, however, notable Old Republic historians also donned a pair with Ansatan design.
Additional Information Body Paragraph:
Master Dorak was the Chronicler at the Dantooine enclave and a member of the Council during the Jedi Civil War. Deesra Luur Jada, his trainee, was being prepared to separate from him. But in Katarr's Devastation, he perished. The Twi'lek finished Jada's training and assisted in locating important information. At the Coruscant Temple, Master Kreia worked as a historian for Chief Librarian Atris. Input locks on Telos IV were built by Atris, who also kept stolen holocrons in secret. One of her Echani handmaidens, Brianna, took up responsibility for the Telosian Academy after her, ensuring that knowledge remained under the Order's authority.
