For the New Republic and the Rebel Alliance, Arhul Hextrophon served as a historian. He joined the Rebel Alliance when Han Solo and Chewbacca saved his family from slavers who had kidnapped them. As a major, Hextrophon oversaw the Alliance's History Section. He worked on crucial records pertaining to the Galactic Civil War. He served the New Republic after the Battle of Endor until at least 10 ABY. In that year, there was an attempt on his life on Caprioril.

History/Background Body Paragraph: 

Education and journalism professional Arhul Hextrophon participated in the Galactic Civil War before joining the Alliance to Restore the Republic. On a slave ship, he and his family were assaulted and taken captive by Zygerrian slavers. He got the slavers to leave the ship by convincing them that stormtroopers were coming to inspect their shipping permits. Knowing Janodral Mizar's law, Solo and Chewbacca left the ship and her cargo in the care of the freed slaves while Hextrophon flew the slave ship to safety.

Hextrophon joined the Alliance to Restore the Republic in 2 BBY and progressed through the Alliance Military ranks to reach the rank of major. He was given a non-combat position as the Executive Secretary and Master Historian for the Alliance High Command, in charge of the Alliance's History Section. Voren Na'al, a former journalism student who had grown weary of the Empire, was introduced to Hextrophon, who persuaded him to join the Rebellion. After the Battle of Yavin, Hextrophon started writing the Official History of the Rebellion, Volume One and learned fascinating things about the Empire. Hextrophon continued to document the history of the Alliance as it evolved into the New Republic after Emperor Palpatine's demise at Endor.

Hextrophon was one of the Chief of State's few confidants and a close friend of Mon Mothma. She wasn't the only one who had faith in him; Yoda had faith in Hextrophon to keep the Empire's location a secret. Hextrophon kept his promise and never divulged where the Jedi Master was. Hextrophon was a skilled starship navigator who spoke Shyriiwook, the Wookiee language, and had a rudimentary understanding of astromech droid language.
