Carth Onasi
General Information
Carth Onasi is a human male born on Telos IV in the year 3994 BBY. He was known for fighting in the Mandalorian Wars for the Republic in the Republic Naval Starfighter Corps and playing an essential role in Revan's quest to rediscover the Star Forge and defeat Darth Malak. His wife and son would presumably be killed in Revan and Malak's war against the Republic when Carth's mentor. Republic Admiral Saul Karath turned against the Jedi and bombed his planet. His son would survive and be trained in the ways of the Sith. This event would lead him to hold a grudge against the former admiral and develop trust issues. He would eventually become an admiral in the Republic sometime after the "Battle on Rakata Prime," which would see the death of Darth Malak. It is unknown when he died or where his final resting place was, but one of the three planets believed to be the location was Tatooine.
History/Background Body Paragraph
Born on Telos IV in 3994 BBY, he would live on his home planet with his wife Morgana and his son Dustil. Eventually, he would take the call of service, serving his own planet's militia but eventually began service in the Republic Navy, where he would earn the pilot nickname "Fleet." Starting as a helmsman in 3964 BBY on the ship known as the "Courageous" before becoming a Lieutenant. From there, he served in many battles, which included the Battles of Vanquo and Serroco. Around this time, he met a Padawan fugitive posing as a janitor going by Shad Camper, though his real name was Zayne Carrick. In one interaction, when he stowed on one of Carth's ships, the Jedi requested Carth take him to Saul Karath as he had a vision of an attack on Serroco. Carth agreed after Carrick proved he was a Jedi by using the Force to pull his blaster away from him, though he was initially skeptical of him and his sanity. Saul congratulated Carth on capturing the Jedi and ordered him to inform the Revanchists, the rogue Jedi who fought in the Mandalorian Wars under Revan and Malak, of his capture. Rather than do that, he contacted a Jedi named "Squint," who he believed could prove Carrick's innocence. When he could not contact Squint, he contacted seventeen cities to set off Tornado alarms to drive the populace into shelters, protecting them from the predicted Mandalorian attack using nuclear missiles. Despite this, billions still died on Serroco. After an attack on the Courageous by the Mandalorians, Carth and Saul freed Carrick, and they fled to another ship known as the Deadweight, where his lightsaber was kept. They would head to another ship owned by Arkoh Adasca, known as the Arkanian Legacy, as Saul was called there for a meeting, being shocked to discover Mandalore the Ultimate was also present. He would take part in a plan to stop Adasca by tricking Mandalore into believing he was tricked. It works, and a firefight ensues, which injures Carth and kills Adasca. Carrick would be let free by Carth, and Carth and Saul would inform the Republic of what went down on the Legacy. The act of freeing Carrick would earn him a demotion, and he would be reassigned to the Lance Squadron. Though soon after, he would run into Carrick again and eventually let him escape a second time. This act redeemed his post on the Swiftsure, and he would eventually be present for the capture of the Gladiator. Eventually, the war would end with the death of Mandalore the Ultimate, and Carth would be hailed as a war hero, returning home like the other Republic soldiers. However, this newfound peace was short-lived, as Revan, many other Republic officers, and Jedi turned against the Republic. One of these defectors was his mentor Saul Karath. Carth is devastated by this, and when the Sith bombs his home planet by Saul as a pledge of allegiance to the Sith, which leads to his wife's death and his son's disappearance. Continuing to work for the Republic, he would find himself on the Endar Spire in an advisory position. The ship carried a Jedi, Bastila Shan, who was vital to the war against the Sith due to her Battle Meditation ability. However, when the ship was attacked, he would work with an amnesiac, Revan, who was also on board to escape the ship on the last escape pod. From there, the two would work together alongside other allies, including Bastila Shan, to fight and defeat the last of the two Sith Lords attacking the Republic, Darth Malak. During this mission, Carth finally got his revenge against Saul Karath with the help of Revan. However, it did not bring him much peace, alongside reuniting with his son on the planet of Korriban, as he was training to be a Dark Jedi, turning him away from the dark side. He would also learn that the mysterious soldier he is working with on this mission is Darth Revan, though he promised to save him from himself if necessary. Eventually, he would be made an admiral for his efforts in the fight against the Sith on Rakata Prime. He was being tasked to keep the Republic in good shape by Revan, who departed for unknown regions. He would begin to observe a former Jedi known as Meetra Surik. Eventually, a Sith Lord known as Darth Nihilus attacked Telos once again; finally, making up for the past guilt of his perceived failure, he managed to keep the planet safe from the Sith Lord, whom Meetra Surik would kill. After requesting an audience with her, he asked her to find Revan and wished her good luck. From there, he continued to serve until he eventually died. Though the date and cause are not specific, his resting place was on three potential planets, one of which was Tatooine. He was memorialized on Corellia alongside his Revan and the other heroes who defeated Darth Malak.
