The design of the sword was based on the weapon of the Echani. It was mainly used with 2 hands, but some people were strong enough to use it with one hand, allowing them to carry 2.  As with all other vibro weapons, there was a risk of electrocution to the user because the electricity touched the energy cell and the ultrasonic vibration generator.

History/Background Body Paragraph:

The weapon was used by members of the Sith Empire military, by people like Souske. During the rise of the Empire, BX-series droid commandos were very effective against Republic clones. They were also very effective against droids,  as Hondo Ohanka used such a weapon in a battle against droids when he fought with Ahsoka Tano and several other Jedi younglings.

The vibrosword can be used in disguise and makes no sound, making the user virtually undetectable to the enemy. It also has the ability to shock opponents, causing pain and paralysis or death when used properly if the opponent is not wearing protective gear or armor. This makes this weapon very effective in close combat.
