General Information Body Paragraph: 

The Death Watch was a rebellious Mandalorian terrorist group that opposed the peacekeeping Mandalore government. Led by Mand’alor Pre Vizsla, they unsuccessfully attempted to take over the planet multiple times. They decided to join with another group led by Maul called the Shadow Collective in order to meet their goals, where together they were able to take control of the planet. However, after a dispute over power arose between Pre Vizsla and Maul, Pre Vizsla betrayed Maul, in which Maul responded by challenging him to a duel for the leadership of Mandalore. A hard fight ended with the death of Pre Vizsla, and after their leader’s demise, the Death Watch began to slowly dismantle.

History/Background Body Paragraph:

After the Mandalorian Civil War, remaining Mandalorians who believed in the old warrior ways were exiled to a moon called Concordia and the pacifist New Mandalorians believed that they died out. But over time, these survivors regrouped together and took on the name Death Watch. The governor of Concordia, Pre Vizsla, became their leader in secret, allowing the moon to be their hideout. Their main goal was not to incite another civil war, but instead to overthrow the government and restore Mandalore to the traditional warrior ways of the past. When the events of the Clone Wars took place, the Death Watch allied with the Sith Lord and the separatists for their help in taking over the government.

The Death Watch members were extremely loyal to their cause and pushed very heavily for Mandalore to return to its former warrior traditions. So much so, that even when Maul became leader of Mandalore despite not being a Mandalorian, many former members followed him because it was what made them stronger. Maul was also using his alliance with the Death Watch to build a criminal empire out of Mandalore, which caused the tension leading to the duel between him and Pre Vizsla.
