During the Clone Wars, Crosshair—previously known as CT-9904—operated as a clone commando in Clone Force 99 of the Grand Army of the Republic. Genetic abnormalities improved Crosshair's vision and accuracy, allowing him to specialize in sniping and excel in long-range warfare.

When Order 66 was activated, Crosshair was the sole member of Clone Force 99 who obeyed the order. Later, after becoming unhappy with his group's lack of response to the Galactic Empire, Governor Wilhuff Tarkin assigned Crosshair to face his erstwhile allies. Then he was promoted to the military position of Clone Commander.

Background/History Body: 

"Crosshair," also known as CT-9904, was a male clone created from Jango Fett's genetic material. Despite having certain abnormalities, it was first thought to be an undesirable clone. But Crosshair was reclassified as an improved clone once it was discovered that his flaws were useful in combat situations. Along with other similarly altered clones, he made up the elite clone commando group known as Clone Force 99, also known as "the Bad Batch."

Running as a separate unit that seldom cooperated with regular clone soldiers, Crosshair and his group attained an astounding 100% success record. Even though Crosshair detested normal clone troopers, they often had to work alongside them on missions; the Bad Batch called these troops "regs" for regulars. Remarkably, "Wrecker," a fellow member of the Bad Batch, mentioned that anytime the squad collaborated with ordinary clone troopers, their vehicles would unavoidably be targeted and shot down.

At one time in their military battles throughout the war, Cut Lawquane and his family happened to cross paths with Crosshair and his troops on Saleucami.

Sergeant Hunter said that Crosshair's exceptional proficiency at shooting accurately earned him the nickname "Crosshair" since he could strike targets 10 kilometers away. His favorite weapon was the 773 Firepuncher, and he felt he was better than everyone since he was a skilled marksman. This is why he didn't want to work with clone soldiers who hadn't changed.

Crosshair was a genetically modified clone whose superior vision allowed him to shoot ranged weapons—especially sniper rifles—with unmatched accuracy. Crosshair's nearly unmatched marksmanship was demonstrated by his ability to dependably hit any designated target at any distance.
