General Information: Korriban is a barren planet across the galaxy from Planet Koros Major as the sole planet in the Horuset system and the original home world of the Sith species. Korriban after being abandoned has been a sacred burial ground for fallen Sith lords and contains immense dark side power.

History/Background:  Towards the end of the 100-year darkness the exiled Jedi fled and landed on planet Korriban; greeted by the Sith species, which at the time, simply meant they were the original inhabitants of Korriban. The Jedi being Force-sensitive were treated like gods for amazing the Sith with their Force abilities and ruled the Sith species. After years on the planet, the inter-breeding on the planet allowed the Sith to be Force-sensitive too. The dark lords ordered the creation of huge palaces and burial grounds for fallen lords as the years passed, making the planet the center of dark side energy. After the Great Hyper Space war, however, the planet lost its prominence as everyone thought the Sith were extinct.

Additional Information: Later on, planet Korriban was explored by expeditionary forces sent by The Republic to deal with potential Sith trying to take control. What they found was a ruins-barren planet that was lifeless; The Republic were not aware of the civil war that happened years prior.
