Lightsabers are plasma swords, powered by kyber crystals for combat purposes. The plasma blade is emitted from a metal hilt, which can be activated and deactivated at will. A lightsaber is wielded by the Jedi, the Sith, and a few Force-sensitives. The power of the lightsaber could be greatly enhanced alongside the power of the Force.

History/Background Body Paragraph:

Lightsabers were first used thousands of years before the age of the Galactic Republic, though they were also used in the Great Scourge of Malachor. The first lightsaber was called a proto-saber, an ancient prototype saber.

Additional Information Body Paragraph:

In the past, lightsaber colors were extremely important. Blue meant you were destined to be a Jedi Guardian, Green meant you were to become a Consular, and lastly, yellow indicated you would be a Jedi Sentinel. If you had a blue saber, you would use the Force on a more physical level. If you had a green saber, you were more intact with Force, and fought the dark side at its heart. If you had a yellow saber, it meant that the user had honed their skills within combat and scholarly pursuits.
