General Information Body Paragraph:

The Yuuzhan Vong were a species that nearly wiped out the New Republic with a casualty list of over 300 trillion across the galaxy. Also known as the Chosen Ones, the Yuuzhan Vong originated from Yuuzhan’tar, which was not from any part of the known galaxy. Standing at just under two meters tall, the Yuuzhan Vong resembled a disfigured, musculature human. They were undetectable through the Force, an ability that only a few Sith Lords could use. The Yuuzhan were deeply connected to religion and beliefs, one of those being an adoration for pain and suffering. In fact, the Yuuzhan Vong would go so far as to replace their organs to prove their strength and commitment to their beliefs. The Yuuzhan Vong believed that replacing their organs brought them closer to their Gods, who sacrificed parts of their bodies to create the galaxy. The nervous system of a Yuuzhan was enhanced to feel pain, and enduring physical pain was seen as a status symbol among their kind. Another belief they had was that technology was a curse against the galaxy, and they only used organic tools.

History/Background Body Paragraph:

While the Yuuzhan Vong were considered the Chosen Ones, there were outcasts amongst their kind that they considered as the Shamed Ones. Those who were shamed were those with physical deformities, heretics, or a failure in their society. If a Yuuzhan Vong was deformed at birth, they were slaughtered to retain their purity. The Yuuzhan Vong would often create caste systems, or clans amongst themselves.  Yuuzhan Vongs that were stronger could challenge others to a barbaric duel to the death, as death was seen as the ultimate victory of life. 

Additional Information Body Paragraph 

For the Yuuzhan Vong, religion was a major part of their history. Sacrificing for their Gods was a fundamental aspect of their beliefs, and this was a normal part of life. With no connection to the Force or the galaxy, they were undetectable to Jedi and were resistant to most Force abilities. The only known abilities to affect the Yuuzhan Vong were telekinesis, force lightning, vongsense, and shatterpoint. However, their beliefs made it difficult for a Yuuzhan Vong to be captured, as they would rather die than surrender. Despite their religion of dying on the battlefield, the Yuuzhan Vong often won their battles, as their disconnection to the Force made them a formidable opponent that the Jedi had never experienced before. They had captured most of the galaxy and slaughtered their enemies with no hesitation. By 25 ABY, the Yuuzhan Vong had control over most of the planets before the Republic had done anything to stop them. It was not until 36 ABY that the Yuuzhan Vong had been defeated and diminished to the planet of Zoname Sekot.
