It is difficult to find another similar song that would be equally loved by both opera and pop singers, and often sung at the festive table. I am pleased when, in a distant country, from the speakers on the bus it suddenly sounds: “Wild cherry blossoms are everywhere ...” In Canada, America, Israel or Australia - wherever the fate of our fellow countrymen has thrown, they listen to this song with tears in their eyes, they ask to perform more and again. The song has become truly popular. If Nikolay Yuriychuk and Vasily Mikhailyuk had not created anything else, then this song alone would put them on a par with our other outstanding fellow countrymen Olga Kobylyanskaya, Yuriy Fedkovich, Dmitry Gnatyuk, Ivan Mykolaichuk, Levko Dutkivsky and many others who glorified our land. Honor your father and your mother... We often forget this commandment of God when it comes to parents... of songs. Vasily Mikhailyuk had a difficult fate. During the war he was the son of a regiment, after the Victory he served in the army for 11 years. In less than 40 years, shortly after the resounding success of Cheremshina, he was paralyzed and received a second disability group. In the 1960s, the composer and his co-author received fantastic fees (sometimes as much as a thousand rubles a month). In the Soviet years, Mikhailyuk was assigned a personal pension of republican significance. And during the time of Ukrainian independence, he received meager money, which he completely spent on the treatment of a serious illness. And the poet Nikolai Yuriychuk for a long time beat out a disability pension. "Cheremshina" is the only monument to him. *Nikolai Yurichuk destroyed almost all of his manuscripts before his death. In our history, it has happened more than once that songwriters who have become truly popular are rarely remembered. For example, Stepan Rudansky was sued with his song “Move, wind, to Ukraine”, Semyon Klimovsky, the author of “Have a Cossack across the Danube”, Mikhail Petrenko (his poignant ballad “I marvel at the sky” has existed for almost two hundred years). How can one not recall here the Poltava fabulist Leonid Glibov - the creator of the thought “To stand a high mountain”, Roman Savitsky, who, under the influence of great love in the early 1930s, wrote “Hutsulka Xenia” ... Before his death, bedridden Nikolai Yurichuk destroyed almost all the manuscripts - more than 100 poems that were never published. The heart of this gifted Bukovinian poet stopped beating on November 30, 1997. And on May 2, 2003, his friend and co-author Vasily Mikhailyuk passed away. The poet and composer, who were inseparable during their lifetime, rest nearby in the city cemetery in their native Vashkovtsy.

The poem lay at Mykhaylyuk until the spring of 1965, when in early May he went to the shore of Cheremosh to cut grass and saw the lush flowering of wild garlic. The words of the poems immediately surfaced in my head and the melody of the beginning of the song "Everywhere there is a wildly flowered bird cherry, as if viburnum had been dressed up before marriage." Basil rushed to add the piano and added the melody to the end. The last column of the poem was thrown away. The next day, the song was performed at a rehearsal by the village choir. Among the first soloists, according to the memoirs of Vasily Mikhailyuk himself, Nina Nechyporenko, who worked as a railway cashier in the neighboring district center of Starozhintsi, sang the best in Cheremshina. This was reported in the newspaper "Fakty" for May 23, 2003 by Ternopil journalist and musicologist Mykhailo Maslii, who in September 2002 met in Chernivtsi with Vasyl Mykhaylyuk, who by that time was already 73 and who by that time had already written more than 200 songs.
