Nili Ben-Yehezkel and Emi – Translation from Hebrew
Silence
The burden of silence deeply depresses me,
It is the sword of silence that cuts my heart.
I am still here and waiting – I am,
Still surrounded with the red of my bleeding song.
Death is silent, indeed we are doomed to silence
In the end, when the day comes, the way is short;
But life has a voice and a saying, and we have
A passion for this saying and a clear and enthusiastic echo.
It freezes me. It comes with the horror of the grave
Its crooked mouth opened unlawfully -
I am still here - here I am - beyond -
Hit me with words! But please – do not be silent!
