Students Becoming Chromebook Experts

By Mitch Foster

As students move into the new school year, they are getting more used to the Chromebooks, but some people might be confused about how to use certain functions like copy and paste or how to turn caps lock on or off.

With the Chromebook, there are a lot of ways to do things by hitting a combination of keys. Senior Zach Eggleton stated, “To turn caps lock on, hit the alt button and the search button to turn it on and off.”

Everyone knows there is no right-click on the Chromebook's pad and students have to use ctrl c/ctrl v to copy and paste.

Sophomore Ethan Weaver said, “You don’t have to use ctrl c/ctrl v. All you have to do is click the pad with two fingers and bam there's all your right-click things right there.”

As students do school work, they may be getting frustrated with having to switch back and forth between tabs, but junior Reese Pierce said, “It's easy. All you have to do is hit alt and then one of the bracket keys and then drag a second tab to the blank side of the screen.” This allows students to have two windows open at once.

If students want to know any of the other numerous keyboard combinations, hit ctrl, alt, and the question mark key and there you will find all the keyboard shortcuts to try out for youself.

Good luck at becoming Chromebook masters!
