November Heat Wave at GRB

By Joshua Sokolic

GRB teachers were stunned with heat on Thursday, November 7 as they entered their rooms. Many rooms were well above 90 degrees.

Teachers and students had mixed emotions. Senior Alyssa Kurak said, "I walked in Mr. Fasulo's room and it was extremely hot. I even grabbed a Chromebook that felt like it just came out of a microwave."

Teachers felt that this was not good for the students or the school.

US History teacher Mrs. Ruzekowicz said, "Considering this is the end of the marking period and there were many assessments today, it was hard for students to concentrate."

Many students and teachers reported not feeling well. Some teachers even relocated their classes.

English teacher Mr. Heindorf said, "I am worried about the amount of money that was wasted in heating my room to 100+ degrees all night."

Although many teachers were shocked and unhappy about the scorching temperatures, there seemed to be one teacher who was perfectly okay with it.

Alternative Education Coordinator Mr. Waldron said, "I like it. It's like the Bahamas."

Ninety-three degrees was an average classroom temperature when teachers arrived to school on Thursday, November 7.
The Halloween candy in Mr. Heindorf's classroom did not fare well in the heat.
