Staying Connected While at Home

By Hailey LaClaire

Since none of the students at GRB have been able to see their peers in person for a while, it’s been a bit more difficult to keep in touch with friends. But, because most teenagers today have phones and other various devices, keeping in touch has actually been much easier than it could have been before.

I’ve been frequently texting and even calling my close friends to keep in touch. It can be hard to not feel alone during this time, but being able to contact others helps a lot.

“I’ve been calling my friends on Discord often,” junior Damien Hickman said.

“I text my friends all the time to catch up with them,” senior Kayleigh LaBeef said.

Senior Allie Nichols said, “I’ve still been able to visit my boyfriend and one of my friends, but I've been texting the people I can’t see."

The internet has given everyone, especially students, a great advantage during this time. Many of us have been using our devices in order to keep contact with friends and family. Make sure to check up on your friends every now and then!
