The varsity and junior varsity volleyball teams hosted their fifth annual Spike Teal game on October 17. The event is held in memory of Coach Caroline Richardson and raises money for ovarian cancer research. All proceeds and donations go to a local organization that is fighting for a cure.
The players dress in teal jerseys to support the cause. The Raiders had a good turn out for this fundraiser raising over $4,500.
The Lady Raiders took on the Central Square Red Hawks at home, winning the game in only three sets. They came out pumped up and ready to fight for a cause.
Sophomore and junior varsity player Tesa Galvin stated, "We had a great turn out. We had a decent amount of people that came to support and the varsity team played great against Central Square."
Junior Abby Pawlewicz said, "We crushed the Red Hawks in three straight sets. We raised around $4500, which was one of our lowest totals throughout the years due to the smaller crowd."
Spectator and senior Anthony Dashnau said, "The Red Hawks can't fly."
It was a great night for the Raiders as they raised some money for a great cause and also played a great game.
