Quirk's Players to Present The Music Man

By Leah O'Hanlon

This weekend, Quirk's Players will present The Music Man. Starting on March 5, there will be four shows, including shows on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings and a matinee on Saturday, March 7. The members of Quirk's Players have been working very hard and are thrilled to bring The Music Man to our community.

Senior Vita Dean is playing flute and piccolo in the pit orchestra and said, “Playing in the pit is a great opportunity. The show is coming along really nicely and everyone should try to come see it.” Student musicians playing in the pit also include junior Sidney Bradshaw and seniors Andrew Smith, Dominic Fischel, and Leah O’Hanlon.

Senior Kira Whitehead plays Marion, the lead female role, and said, “I'm so honored to have the part in the show that I have and I absolutely love being able to work with all of the elementary kids and being able to do what I love with all my friends. I’m so excited for opening night and can't wait for everyone to see all of our hard work.”

As opening night quickly approaches, the members of Quirk's Players are working hard to put the finishing touches on the show.

Mr. Nami, the music/pit director of the show, said, “The musical is a really great experience for the students. They get to do a lot of singing and dancing. It will be a great show for families to come and see.”

Tickets are $7 for children and seniors and $8 for adults.
