Swimming and Diving Wins Second Section Title

It was a familiar story for the Fulton swimming and diving team on February 13 as they once again won the Section III Class B championship. Fulton also took the title in 2019.

The competition took place at Nottingham High School at 4:30 p.m.

Sophomore Tyler LaDue qualified for States with a school record in the 100 Breast and is the Section III Class B Champion.

Junior Jaden Patterson, freshman Bryce Rogers, senior Koji Burdic, and senior Mark Tallents broke the school record in the 200 Free Relay.

Freshman TJ Clayton is Class B champion in the 200 IM and 100 Fly with a new school record in the fly.

Senior Nate Archer, Tallents, Clayton, and Patterson are 200 Medley Relay Class B champions.

Coach Lacey said, "I am overwhelmed with love and pride for the grit that our Red Raider Swimming and Diving team showed in very close meets Saturday and Thursday. The fact that Fulton can say that they have won two Class B championships in a row is something to be proud of."

Junior swimmer Lilly Dumas said, "I'm extremely proud of my team. They worked so hard this season and it was amazing watching all of their hard work pay off. They swam their hardest and it showed. For the second year in a row, we won Sectionals!"

Junior and champion Tyler LaDue said, "If we didn't have all of our amazing and high-scoring swimmers, we wouldn't have been able to accomplish what we did."

GRB Principal Mrs. Donna Parkhurst said, "This is yet another example of how perseverance, hard work, and team work pay off. Winning two in a row is no small feat. Congratulations!"
