Fulton Golfer Headed to Sectionals with Oswego Team

Liz Roik is a Fulton senior playing on the Oswego girls varsity golf team this season. It was in just the first three matches that Roik qualified for Sectionals.

Sectionals are Tuesday, May 21, and it will be an all-day event taking place at Kanon Valley starting at 8:30 a.m.

On Wednesday, May 15, Roik went to Pompey Country Club to compete against other schools in an 18-hole tournament. It was an all-day event with beautiful sunny skies and some wet course conditions.

On Thursday, May 16, Roik and three of her teammates went to the sectional course to get a practice round in before the big day. The course was in rough condition with high grass and soggy ground. The course may not be in good enough condition in time to play if it rains anymore.

Roik stated, “It’s been a really fun season. I am excited to see how Sectionals turns out and hopefully I will go on to States and represent Fulton well.”
