Once again, the Memorial Day parade was a great success and a lot of fun for the citizens of Fulton. On a beautiful day, May 25, there were rows upon rows of happy crowds looking at the parade as it passed through. Roads were blocked off to allow the parade to move through Fulton.
People were celebrating as former Navy officers passed by, as well as police cars, ambulances, and fire trucks. The Fulton dance teams and soccer teams made an appearance, along with countless other groups.
Sophomore Paige Seymour said, "The bands were great and the dancers were amazing. I went with my mom, dad, and brother. I respected the soldiers who passed by."
The parade started at 10:00 a.m. and ended at 11:30 a.m. At the War Memorial, there were many rides to choose from. There was a merry go round, swings, little kid rides, a slide, and more. The fireworks were originally scheduled for Saturday night, but were postponed due to a thunderstorm. They were rescheduled for Sunday, May 27.
Sophomore Jasmine Fauler said, "The fireworks could've been a bit louder but I had a blast with my family. I also marched in the parade with the high school band."
Most importantly, people remembered those who have lost their lives fighting for our country.
