Runners Ready for Sectionals

By Ethan Abelgore

It is finally time for Cross Country Sectionals. They are Saturday, November 9 at VVS. The boys and girls cross country teams will be having a chance to hopefully have their runners take part in States.

On the girls side, led by Coach Hudson, they will take the whole team to Sectionals.

A few of these runners have stuck out this season. In particular, Abby Mainville had a time of 21:38 and Meillin Lammana had a time of 23:09, those being the fastest times this season. Also, Pheobe Blair, Devon Nicholson, and De'Nayah Orr have had break-out seasons.

Coach Hudson said the season has been a good one and noted, "Overall I am satisfied on how the season went. There is room for improvement, but we had closer duel meet races this year than ever before. I am very excited to see what the future holds for our team."

"I can't wait to see what happens at Sectionals. We are bringing a much stronger team this year than we have in the past two years. I am hopeful that we can improve on our 9th place finish in 2018," Coach Hudson said.

Coach Demars' boys are ready to take on the Sectionals action and the whole team is going.

The runners that stick out the most on the boys side are Ryan Carroll with his best time of 17:52. He has a real chance and will be looking to get into the State meet. Elijah Turner has a low 21 time and Ethan Demars has a low 22 time.

Coach Demars said, "We are looking for big improvement from Adon Heaney and Jaydon Muckey as they have been running well recently."

Good luck to all of the runners taking part in Sectionals!
