Coach Halladay preps the defense for another big play.

Fulton Football Takes A Fall

By Anthony Dashnau

Fulton started out ready to play against Auburn at the Raiders' turf on Friday, September 20, scoring a quick six points with the first few plays they ran. Freshman Sam Cotton had the first touchdown and senior Andru Walts made the extra point. That got the Raiders hyped up and ready to play a hard-fought football game. At the end of the first quarter, the Raiders were up 7-6.

As the second quarter got underway, the Raiders scored another touchdown and Walts kicked another field goal that put the Raiders up 14-6. That was the score at halftime.

As the third quarter began, the Raiders did not score. In the meantime, Auburn scored twice and got both of the two-point conversions and took the lead.

The fourth quarter went pretty badly for the Raiders as Auburn ended up punching in three touchdowns and the Raiders only scored two. The final score was 26-46.

Mr. Hutchinson was still glad to be there, despite the loss, and asked, "Where else would you rather be right now?"

Coach Halladay stated, "If we do our job, play every play from the snap to the whistle, the scoreboard will take care of itself."

Mike Galvin said, "These boys played their hearts out. Although they came up a little short, I still give these boys props. Overall, it was a great football game."
