The varsity baseball team has had a tough season. They are currently 5-9 for the season with only three games left.
They lost their last three games and have had a few games rained out. On May 5, they lost to Jamesville DeWitt 6-1. They did not play to their full potential in this game. There were many errors, which cost them the game.
Due to the consistent rain, the Auburn games were rescheduled and the boys ended up playing a doubleheader at Auburn on May 14. They lost both games. The first game they were a lot closer and only lost 4-3, but in the second game the boys made a lot of little mistakes that cost them the win.
The boys' senior night will be May 17. There will be three seniors recognized, Jake Ely (Catcher), Chris, Schreck (Outfield), and Cory Dexter (First Base). Good luck to the seniors.
Senior Jake Ely said, "For being as young as we are we have had a good season for learning, but now we are looking to make a push in Sectionals."
Senior Cory Dexter said,"I feel that the season showed us that we have guys that are willing to learn and get better in the coming years. There is a lot to expect from them later on. Ultimatel,y this season is still going on and we can still accomplish some things continuing forward."
Good luck to the seniors moving on and to the team as they attempt to move in to Sectionals.
