Homework, tests, and quizzes! Oh my!

There are only a few days left before summer vacation arrives and most students are very excited. This time of year also brings some sadness for those who enjoy going to school.

Are you stressed, tired, or angry? You can do it. You’ve come a long way and nothing is stopping you from taking this big leap forward. Sure students say they want to give up, but is it really worth giving up after all the hard work you have put in and all that you have accomplished?

As the school year comes to a close, it is time to open a new chapter in your lives. Staying positive is important to you and your classmates because, in the end, hard work is sure to pay off!

Social studies teacher Mrs. Kent, who is finishing her 20th year of teaching, said, “I stay upbeat and positive and I love seeing my students everyday.”

Some people try to take a moment to remind themselves that today will be a good day. You have so many people who you can look up to. Classwork can be tiring at times and that is the truth, but if you have courage and faith in yourself, you will be all right.

If you are missing assignments, talk with your teacher about handing in late work. If you are tired of the stress of work, take a break. It is always important to take breaks in between working sessions. Motivate yourself to keep trying.

Senior Quynn Sweeney said, “My year is going great and it is very relaxing and I am excited to be done to move onto my career!”

She added, “I was really glad to talk to my friends and will never forget my time in high school.”

Always remember you are not alone. Maybe you’ve felt like you need time to yourself and that is natural to feel like that. Just a friendly wave or smile will surely make someone’s day. When you walk across the stage someday and see your friends and classmates, you’ll be sure to say you've made it and you will feel great about all of your accomplishments.
