Students Excel at FBLA Competiton

By Michael Janaro

Members of the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) traveled to Bryant & Stratton College on Friday, January 31. Led by advisors Mr. Cupelo and Mrs. Ferlito, the students were ready to compete against other schools in District Nine.

The schools Fulton competed against were West Genesee, Auburn, Marathan, McGraw, and Homer.

Ten Fulton students attended this event and left determined for the next step, which is the state competition, held in Rochester.

Sophomore Quinn Halstead stated, "The tests were challenging, but it wasn't anything I was not prepared for. I stayed after school to study for the tests I was assigned." Halstead won first place in all three of her events, including Basic Decision Making, Introduction to Business Communication, and Introduction to Word Processing.

Junior Zach Eggleton stated, "It was pretty fun. I enjoy taking challenging tests with a competitive goal in mind." Eggleton placed first in Economics, second in Business Calculations, and third in Political Science.

Additional winners are included below.

Sophomore Megan Flint - Third in Client Service, Second in Introduction to Word Processing, and Second in Business Calculations

Junior Kaylee Hutchins - Second in Publication Design, First in Future Business Leader Vice President Test

Congratulations to all of the students and good luck as they prepare for States!
