The American Red Cross is coming to GRB!

G. Ray Bodley's Student Senate is hosting an American Red Cross blood drive on October 29 from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. in the LGI in order to give back to the community.

In the United States, someone needs a blood transfusion every two seconds.

Donation requirements from the American Red Cross explain that donors "must weigh at least 110 lbs. to be eligible for blood donation for [their] own safety. Students who donate at high school drives and donors 18 years of age or younger must also meet additional height and weight requirements for whole blood donation (applies to girls shorter than 5'6" and boys shorter than 5')."

Student Senate advisor Ms. Florio explained that anyone who needs a consent form or wants to sign up should contact her. Mrs. Ferlito is the other Student Senate advisor and she can also help students sign up and get ready to donate.

In order to donate blood, you must be 17 (or 16 with parental consent).
