As seniors are picking up their pre-ordered yearbooks or buying their own, unfortunately, some are finding themselves disappointed. Though many seniors are upset or mad about some of the errors in the yearbook, the yearbook club members and advisors did their best to make sure everything was the best it could be.
The club had a very hard time getting everything done properly and in time, especially with the shortage of members. Sophomore Brandi Carr said, “It was really difficult to complete the yearbook with a few students. Hopefully next year we will have more people to help and there won't be mistakes."
The yearbook club only had three members actively working on the yearbook throughout the year and none of them were seniors.
Yearbook Co-Advisor Mrs. Honeywell said, "We imported templates from last year's yearbook and there were some pictures from last year. Unfortunately, when we read through it, they were overlooked."
The shortage of people working on this caused errors, including old graduates being included in the senior section and some people missing from the senior section. Some students also said that they did not get their baby picture put in the section where people pay for their pictures and a message to be put in. Some students and parents have expressed their concerns over some students not being in the senior sections or not being in the yearbook at all. Students have to get their picture taken at school on picture day or submit a picture by the deadline in order to be in the yearbook.
It was very hard to complete the yearbook this year, but the few students and two advisors tried their best to get it done on time and make it as good as possible.
Yearbook Co-Advisor Mrs. Gates said there are big changes coming for next year. She explained, "In order to cut down on errors, pictures will need to be submitted online and books will need to be purchased online."
She added, "Parent recognition ads and baby pictures will also be submitted online to ensure we have a reliable system for getting everything into the yearbook."
Mrs. Honeywell really wants to urge everyone to join the yearbook club and help put together and edit the yearbook next year. They need help and they need more students from every grade.
