Lady Raiders Ready to Recover from Loss

By Ian Bogardus

The girls varsity basketball team lost 65-31 to Whitesboro on Tuesday, December 10. The girls were all really good and although they played tough, they just could not pull this one off.

Sophomore player Joann LeVea said, "They were all really good and they are a great contender for a section title." She added that junior Alena Wright had a lot of blocks for the Raiders.

Senior spectator Camrin Galvin said, "They truly just got dominated, although they did some good things. Alena had a great game."

Senior player Alicia Merritt was pleased about going against Whitesboro. "Whitesboro was a great opponent in the way that they utilized their speed and length. We kept up in the beginning, but were unable to capitalize on easy points," she said.

Merritt added the loss showed them how much work they have ahead of them.

The Lady Raiders play Friday, December 13 at GRB against Watertown. Good luck!
