Community 'Got a Kick' Out of Anything Goes
ANYTHING GOES -- Quirk's Players of G. Ray Bodley High School proudly presented Cole Porter's classic Broadway musical, ANYTHING GOES. The theatrical favorite featured such memorable songs as, "Friendship," "I Get A Kick Out of You," "De-lovely," "You're The Top," and "Anything Goes" to name a few. The annual school musical was under the direction of Fulton Teachers Tom Briggs, Thomas Nami, and Rob Lescarbeau with dances choreographed by Doreen Kelly. ANYTHING GOES was presented Thursday and Friday, March 7 and 8 at 7:30 PM and Saturday, March 9 at 2:00 PM and 7:30 PM in the Bodley Auditorium.
BON VOYAGE - The S.S. American sets sail for Europe with a debutante, an English lord, a lovelorn Wall Street agent, a gangster and his accomplice in Cole Porter's ANYTHING GOES. I Get A Kick Out of You - Quirk's Players of Fulton's G. Ray Bodley High School proudly presented ANYTHING GOES. It is a story of romance, love and laughter. Here Reno Sweeney (played by Alexis Barth) chats with Bill Crocker (Nick Brown) before she sets sail for England. ANYTHING GOES features a beautiful score by Cole Porter that includes such memorable songs as "Friendship," "I Get A Kick Out of You," "It's De-lovely" "Blow, Gabriel, Blow" and "Anything Goes." Mr. Thomas Nami, a faculty member in the GRB Music Department, served as the production's music director and conducted the ANYTHING GOES pit orchestra. ANYTHING GOES was presented by special arrangement with Tams-Witmark Music Library.
STOWING AWAY - Notorious gangster Moonface Martin (played by Ronde Wood - left) and his accomplice, Erma (portrayed by Chloe Hurlbut), sneak aboard the S.S. American to travel to Europe. They are on the lookout for their partner, Snake Eyes Johnson - Public Enemy Number One, but don't want to be caught. The scene is from Quirk's Players' Production of Cole Porter's ANYTHING GOES.
NEEDING HELP - Billy Crocker (Nicholas Brown - left) seeks help from the notorious gangster Moonface Martin (Ronde Wood), who's disguised as a priest and his accomplice Erma (Chloe Hurlbut) in a scene from Cole Porter's ANYTHING GOES. The Broadway favorite was under the direction of GRB Theatre Director Tom Briggs.
ANYTHING GOES - Quirk's Players of G. Ray Bodley High School proudly presented Cole Porter's beloved Broadway musical ANYTHING GOES. ANYTHING GOES is filled with adventure, love - and gambling. Here, notorious gangster Moonface Martin (played by Ronde Wood - center) finds he might be swindled by two converts (Wesley VanBuren - left and Jacon Hahn - right) who aren't as innocent and honest as they appear to be. ANYTHING GOES featured over 60 students in the cast, crew and orchestra.
"It's De-lovely" - Wall Street Broker Billy Crocker (Nick Brown) meets up with the girl he loves, Debutant Hope Harcourt (Becca Bailey), aboard the S.S. American. Billy has stowed away to convince Hope to end her engagement to a stuffy Englishman and marry him instead. The production featured dances choreographed by Doreen Kelly. Quirk's Players is the student theatre troupe at G. Ray Bodley High School.
SAILORS DISTRACTED - Sailors aboard the S.S. American have been distracted by the lovely Erma, played by Chloe Hurlbut. Though she has been sent to assist the gangster Moonface Martin, she has become sidetracked by the sailors on board and now has romance on her mind. RENO & HER ANGELS - The well known singer and former evangelist Reno Sweeney (played by Alexis Barth - Center) and her Angels (l to r: Kelsey Caza, Hayley Vann, Shaylee Cealie and Sarah Fisch) board the S.S. American for adventure and romance as they head to England.
