On Wednesday, June 5, students in the SUNY ESF Global Environment Class won awards at the ESF Research Symposium. The students were juniors Anna-Carole Samson, Kira Whitehead, Hayden Williamson, Becca Bailey and Macy Middleton.
Samson, Whitehead, and Williamson won the Student Choice award. Their project was on the positive and negative effects and impacts on the dredging of Lake Neatahwanta and how it could potentially affect the local fish populations.
Bailey and Middleton won Most Outstanding Poster Presentation for their research on the practicality and sustainability of using leftover school lunch fruits and vegetables in a standard compost or vermin system.
