Students are getting excited as Spirit Week and Homecoming are right around the corner. On Monday, September 30, students have a half day with no classes and it will be a chance to celebrate Raider Pride.
Students will begin in Guided Study Hall for attendance and then will head down to the turf to watch some cheers and for the National Anthem and Alma Mater. There will also be refreshments.
When students return to Guided Study Hall, they will learn about Native American culture and the Red Raider icon, Chief Hiawatha. They will also learn about the Alma Mater and decorate hallways and classroom doors in order to show off the school for Open House, which will be held Wednesday, October 2 from 6-7:30 p.m. following a Block Party from 5-6 p.m.
Students will have opportunities to show their school spirit every day of the week. The themes for each day are
Monday (9/30) - 'Merica Monday
Tuesday (10/1) - Twin Tuesday
Wednesday (10/2) - Character Day (Dress as your favorite TV/Movie character)
Thursday (10/3) - Tropical Thursday
Friday (10/4) - School Spirit Day
All students and staff will receive a Raider t-shirt for School Spirit Day!
The homecoming dance is Friday, October 4 from 7-10 p.m. It is semi-formal so students should dress up for the event.
The pep rally will be Friday, October 18 at the end of the day and the football team has a home game that night.
There are lots of exciting things ahead for GRB. Get ready to show off your Raider Pride!
