The G. Ray Bodley varsity baseball team had a tough start to their season, but are beginning to turn things around. The boys are sitting with three wins and three losses.
They lost to Fayetteville-Manlius 14-1, Jamesville Dewitt 8-1, and East Syracuse Minoa 13-2. They beat Central Square twice, 9-7 and 15-5, and they beat ESM 11-7 when they played them the second time.
After the team's last win they have shown they can be a good team if they all work hard and play as a team. The team started off really slow because they have a lot of young players. They have two eighth-graders, two freshmen, and they have three sophomores.
Senior Jake Ely said, "There have been games I know we could have played better at the beginning of this season. Although after the win against ESM, I felt the rest of our season is going to be better."
Junior Ian Bogardus said, "We have started off to a slow start, which was expected due to how young our team is. We finally picked it up in our big win against ESM who we lost to the day before."
Sophomore Cuinn Burlingham said, "Our team started off really slow but I think we are starting to play really well and I believe we are going to finish the season winning some games."
