OCAY League Enjoys Second Competition

On November 7, the OCAY League competition's topic was Oswego County. Participants were given time to prepare a travel brochure to attract tourists and a commercial to attract businesses to Oswego County. Students also had to answer trivia questions about Oswego County.

"OCAY League was really fun. I was so excited to be chosen. It was fun to compete against other schools on a topic that was a surprise," senior Anna-Carole Samson said.

Oswego County Academic Youth League is a great way for schools to celebrate their students' academics instead of just their athletics.

"OCAY League is a fun chance for kids to participate in a battle of the minds with a changing subject each time to keep things fresh," senior Alex Blaine said.

This competition also has a sense of anonymity because students also have no idea which schools they are competing against.

Senior Kira Whitehead explained, "It was exciting and it was cool to compete against other schools without knowing who was from what school."

Unfortunately, Fulton did not place in the top three for this OCAY League competition, but there's always next time!
