Fulton Teachers' Association Honors Outstanding Students and School Citizens

Pictured are the students honored from the Fulton Junior High School during Monday night's ceremony.

On Monday, May 13, the Fulton Teachers' Association held a ceremony in the GRB auditorium to celebrate students of the Fulton City School District who display great qualities and/or have overcome great struggles in their life.

Opening comments were led by Vice-President of the Fulton Teachers’ Association and Fairgrieve teacher Kerrie Phillips. Short paragraphs were read for each student to highlight their accomplishments. These paragraphs were read by Fulton teachers Becky Barton, Allison Earl, Nicole Garofalo, Rhonda Georgiadis, Michelle Klatt, Harry Meeker, and Karen Noel.

The night concluded with guest speaker, senior Sel Belrad, giving a speech. The speech included stories of Sel’s unique struggles in life and experiences here at GRB.

Recognized students from Fairgrieve included Domonique Bentley, Serenity Clark, Micah Collins, Josh Fredenburg, Gemma-Gene Fuller, Parker Hall, Alyssa Hatter, George, LaClaire, Logan Loftus, Aleishka Martinez, Rylie Munger, Hailey Niver, Isabella Salotto, Brain Santiago, Matthias Searor, and Elijah Wilson.

Granby recipients were Lorelai Bartlett, Keegan Bertrand, Tyler Bertrand, Lauren Bradshaw, Nellie Butler, Colten Clohecy, Marissa Crofoot, Daniel Demott-Smith, Briella Kring, Kathryn McCleery, Alyssa Rivera, Cristofer Rodriguez-Barrios, Nathan Rozner, Lohany Solorzano, Maddison Weldin, and Kaydence Wenthe.

Students from Lanigan included Addison Barrick, Kayden Bartlett, Matthew Becker, Jocilyn Bellinger, Aubrey Bush, Giavandra Enwright, Indiana Griffin, Jacob Hotaling, Taylor Hull, Finley Nye, Larry Prevo, Andrew Sanders, Shamar Thomas-Clark, and Thomas Wood.

Those recognized from Volney were Sophie Brewster, Lila Crisalli, Parker Hicks, Emilyn Moshier, Braedon Prock, Adalyn Russell, Savannah Simmons, and Josie Smith.

Junior High awardees included Charlie Chen, Cameron Connolly, Collin Cunningham, Adon Heaney, Kyle Hood, Grace Hutton, Emma Kerfein, Zoey Kerr, Chasity LeClair, Grady Marshall, Bryce Noel, Tyler Osborne, Elizabeth Parrish, Carleigh Patterson, Camilla Piano, Leah Rowlee, Ariel Ruggio, and Alyssa Sawyer.

Students recognized from GRB were Login Dingman, Olivia Forsyth, Samantha Humphrey, Nora Kingsbury, Elver Merida, Alicia Merritt, Adonis Morales-Marroquin, Paige Pierce, Rodolfo Ramirez-Vasquez, Wilder Reyes Ramos, and Caitlyn Warne.

Senior guest speaker Sel Belrad stated, “It was a very exciting event to see all those young people doing good. I hope they continue to go down the right path.”

Sophomore Wilder Reyes said, “I feel very happy about this. I’m so proud of myself.”

Junior Alicia Merritt noted that, “It is an honor to know that my teachers think so highly of me to be able to recommend me for such an award.”
