How Was The Prom?

By Yaquelin Rodriguez

After the prom last weekend, I wanted to find out what everyone thought about it. I interviewed 10 ENL students during our Guided Study Hall and this is what they replied.

Adonis Marroquin said, “My favorite song they played was ‘Depacito’ because it is in Spanish.”

Yeimi Reynoso mentioned, “Picking my dress was fun because I felt pretty and there were a lot of dresses I liked.”

Rosita Pascual commented, “I like the whole night. I love looking at the pictures now.”

Gilder Vasquez said, “It was the first time I wore a tuxedo. I felt good going to the store (Men’s WearHouse in Cicero) because they wanted to be sure it would look good and fit me correctly.”

Rodolfo Ramirez responded, “As a new experience for me, it was nice because it was fun. I enjoyed sharing with friends and next year maybe I will go again to have fun.”

Wilder Reyes commented that originally he did not want to go to prom, but said he "had so much fun.”

Selena Ramirez exclaimed, “I was happy to be with my school family for the entire night”

Dahilton Vasquez reported, “The dance was very good because everyone was dancing. I liked the chocolate fountain the best.”

Ronaldo Jimenes said, “Claudia Cook, staff from the Migrant Program, brought us in our suits and she is really nice. I shared a ride there in the car with Jose, Rosita, and Selena.”

Bryan Morales mentioned, “Prom was more fun than I thought it was going to be. I am happy I went.”

The prom was a huge success for the ENL students. They had a lot of help from Principal Mrs. Parkhurst and Assistant Principals Mr. Copani and Ms. Stephenson and want to thank them for their assistance.

ENL teacher Ms. Turley agreed and added, “Many thanks should go to all the generous teachers who donated to make that night possible."

It is surely something these students will never forget.
